The Nation ceases publication after 48 years  thaipbsworld.com

After 48 years on the newsstands, The Nation, Thailand's leading English-language daily known for its independent and aggressive news reporting, publishes its last print edition today.

Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist should have his head examined.

It's funny, that throughout my 30 years in Thailand, the printed THE NATION never really appealed to me. When I had the choice I would reach for the BANGKOK POST. But lately, I have to admit, THE NATION's website gives good reading. I guess it was just the marketing, the layout etc. that kept me from reaching for the printed THE NATION, when I looked for something to read at a newspaper stand.

The postman brought me NEWSWEEK and later TIME regularly. That was enough reading about the world.

But of course, the internet replaced any printed newspaper for me.
