Shaw who famously performed barefoot at the contest in Vienna, has revealed that the BBC wanted to fire her on the eve of the competition because they feared her risqué image following an adultery case would damage the nation's chances of winning.

Sadly it turned out that it wasn't an homage to the jurors, that she just didn't want to wear her glasses and needed her feet to feel the microphone cable, to not get entangled in that.
