GLYPHOSATE - 'Roundup'
« on: May 05, 2015, 09:40:49 AM »
Apparently this lovely chemical, commonly used as a garden weedkiller and known as 'Roundup' in Europe, is used extensively in Argentina for aerial crop spraying and they are finding excessive numbers of birth malformations and childhood cancers.
(Is Erin Brokovich around anymore ?)
Also used extensively in Columbia where there are similar fears.
I wonder if this product is used widely here in Thailand ?

I'm sure it is roger,if you google it there are plenty of outlets.

I've used it many times in the uk for grass n weeds in the driveway.
I must say i always felt a bit strange after using it.Dangerous stuff i believe, and you need an agricultral licence.

according to earthopensource.org The facts are these:

Industry has known from its own studies since the 1980s that glyphosate causes malformations in experimental animals at high doses
Industry has known since 1993 that these effects also occur at lower and mid doses
The German government has known since at least 1998 that glyphosate causes malformations
The EU Commission’s expert scientific review panel knew in 1999 that glyphosate causes malformations
The EU Commission has known since 2002 that glyphosate causes malformations. This was the year it signed off on the current approval of glyphosate.

Hi Thaiga. Re. Shredded wheat - NO ! 4 Weetabix and then Marmite on toast.
On the face of it, it seems scandalous to be using this stuff for aerial spraying !!!
