Not a musician, but somebody sung about: Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, the boxer who by a racist justice system was wrongly convicted in 1967 of a triple murder he didn't commit, and who stayed innocent in jail for 19 years, died at age 76 in Canada.

Famous is the song, Bob Dylan made to help him. Later also a movie was made about his unlawful conviction and the people's efforts to help him.
