In 1964 I was just a kid, but I enjoyed my teenage years by the end of the sixties with long hair, a few years later even with a beard. The more the "grown up" people reacted to that with stupid comments the more fun it was to give them heed, provoke them, show them that their idea of "uniform" personality didn't count at all.
Fun is the one thing that money can't buy

Hair today and gone tomorrow

That when it all started, why not put a ring in the left ear and give them something else to talk about. your hair was who you was, there was the elvis style pompadour, Johnny Cash, Morrissey, Imelda May, Alex Turner For the ladies it was the The beehive The Supremes, The Ronnettes, The B-52s, Amy Winehouse. The mop top associated with Beat music, or you might say the merseybeat, British Invasion The Beatles, Eric Burdon, Small Faces, Justin Bieber Other fashions were Dreadlocks, Bob Marley style. The mohican err no thanks some even use to backcombe, now most getting on a bit getting a bit thin on top go for the Skinhead, which suits a lot better than your head growing through your hair.

A Change Is Gonna Come

Fifty years ago and more a very brave artist Sam Cooke walked in to a studio and laid down the tracks for one of the most important songs of the civil rights era. a risky maneuver putting over a political message in that year of 1964, That change is here Now--finally!! The Sun is different today

more to come on the music scene, but first, do you remember the pathe news, of course you do.

pathe news

I just loved the pathe news at the cinema the guys voice was spot on they certainy knew how to capture ones imagination and how to present a show to the audience. The curtains would open and the old cockerel would bellow out. what's left of the cinemas today has turned into a fast food outlet. what wonderful memories at the Saturday matinees. were these the times when Britain was Great.

Hard times have hit some expats as of late but not as hard as the rationing days, have you got an oven here's a few cheap tasty tips for you. the guys teeth in the clip are awful, sure sugar was rationed

Bob Dylan The Times They Are A Changin' 1964

Bob Dylan another guy singing his feelings about hard to discuss things back in the days of hush hush. Dylan’s is a writer of songs as well as a performer. so he wrote what he felt, in them days of past some music stations were a little bit nervy of playing his music. He was the voice of a generation at that time in the 60 s.with songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" that became anthems for the Civil Rights Movement and anti-war movement. In 1965.  Dylan made his breakthrough as a songwriter with the release of the 1963 album The Freewheelin.
