Downes Braide Association. From their latest "Pictures of you."  Road to ruin.  Classy pop song with a message that I am sure would appeal to a few  ;) although I think the song was written about Amy Winehouse.

Anyone remember the rock groups YES and ASIA?

"Yours is no Disgrace" from "The Yes Album" (1971), or better: The whole album, from the early days of stereophony, when sound engineers still added innovative effects, is one of my all-time favorites.

Original analog recordings seem to have more depth in sound.

FLAC (free lossless audio codec) as digital format with 96 kHz instead of the 44.1 kHz of CDA (compact disc audio) is said to almost equal that already. Maybe we can have the master tapes issued in that format again, unless there's already a better digital format when they're halfway through...

YES, I remember.  Back in the 70's I used to record a lot of the John Peel "In Concert" programmes on a home made reel to reel recorder.  The Yes concert was one of these.  Sadly, the tapes had to depart when the family started expanding.

Well Johnnie you old Devil.
Never thought I'd agree with you, about anything at all !
I've got the 'Yes Album' at home and can play it on vinyl and maybe CD too. Possibly 'Yesterdays' also.
My dear late departed Wife, I remember, when we were both young, remarked, ' What do they think they are then, 'Mystic Prophets' ?
(Prettiest Girl in Swindon !)
Pretentious but good music. Jon Anderson. Rick Wakeman.
I've seen all good people turn their heads this way so satisfied I'm on my way.
Goodnight. Not at home.
Starship Trouper ?
How old are we ? Time for a Yes party.

Hi Roger Yes I am an oldie.  I will be back in Korat for my hock sip hock birthtieth party on 21 March. You are welcome to come.  My tape recorder was an all valve (tube for our American cousins) lineup with EF86's in the record/replay chain and a 12AX7 and EL91for the 120 kHz bias supply.

TT. Please don't swear at me ! Technology. I was apprenticed at Vickers South Marston Works in the 60's and we had a computer to do the payroll for 4000 folks, not much else, about 30m2 and 2m high, (ALL tubes).
I think my phone is more powerful than that now !
When I get back home from Phimai 2m, I'll ask my wife to translate your age.
One Xmas Dance at Vickers, we had the Swinging Blue Jeans, Tremeloes and the Barron Knights. 'Yes' were not quite ready !
Thanks for the invite. ATB

OK Roger, My first encounter with a computer was with an Elliot 803 back in about 1967.  This machine was staffed by a whole bunch of people in white coats and the input to it was via a punched paper tape.  This beast had a huge memory of 32kb using ferrite rings.  As for valves (tubes) my finest hour was building a 2kW output amplifier using a single 4CX1000A.

How old are we ?

Easy to conclude from those Alexa statistics. Always watch out in front of that part of the audience who follows this forum to learn English as well as about and from foreigners in their hometown! Keep stature according to your age, and don't call others devil! ;)

Hi Dawn, Interesting.  I am ashamed at my lack of ability to speak Thai.
