Nakhon Ratchasima province joins an International Day against Drug Abuse

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 25 June 2014 (NNT) Nakhon Ratchasima province has committed itself to the 2014 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, presenting certificates to individuals and organizations including the To Be Number One Club, for outstanding performances in drug prevention and suppression.

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Thongchai Lueadul as Director of the Command Center for Drug Elimination Nakhon Ratchasima, presided over the opening ceremony of the 2014 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He also presented certificates to 79 persons and organizations that have given outstanding service in drug suppression.

This year, the government has raised drug addiction as an urgent issue and asked for cooperation from the government sector, private sector, local administrative organizations and the public to eradicate the problem. The objective is to encourage youths to stay away from drugs. There are music shows and performances by the To Be Number One Club and exhibitions on drug suppression. More than 500 people including students from local schools attended.
