Petchaboon Worker Goes Crazy From Pills

A 36-year-old construction worker in Petchaboon became deranged from overuse of amphetamine pills. He was walking around with no pants and holding a knife and cigarette lighter while talking incoherently, scaring people. Police spent 30 minutes talking to the man before restraining and taking him into custody.

SATTAHIP – December 25, 2012 [PDN]; at 8 a.m., a report of a man acting insane from amphetamine pills was received by Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, investigation officer, Plutaluang police station. He rushed to the scene with the detective police team and inspector police.

The suspect was reported to be in Uerh Arthorn village Moo 4 Tambon Plutaluang, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province. At the scene, police discovered the suspect, identified as Mr. Adul Danamkham, age 36, of Petchaboon province, occupation construction worker.

Mr. Adul was wearing only a pink sport shirt, and not wearing any shorts or pants. He was holding a knife and cigarette lighter, and his body seemed tense. He appeared absent-minded all the time. Onlookers were afraid that the suspect was going to beat people and burn houses. It was also the time when parents were bringing their children to school.

Officers spent 30 minutes trying to calm the man down before finally being able to restrain him and take him to the jail of Plutaluang police station. The suspect was later sent to the investigation officer to prosecute in an accusation of consuming amphetamines.

During initial questioning, Mr. Adul told police that he had travelled from Petchaboon province to work as a construction worker at Tambon Plutaluang.

But he had to work all day and all night at his job. So he had to consume amphetamines in order to have energy to work, otherwise his employer would have fired him. But Mr. Adul had consumed so much amphetamines, it made him lose control of his mind.
Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist should have his head examined.
