Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung, in his role as the Director ofthe National Command Center for Drugs, presided over a meeting to review result of the narcotics suppression drive in its first term (Sep 11-Jan 31, 2012), while outlining the strategy for the second term.

Mr. Chalerm said that drug offenders in prison will be strictly watched by prison officers, especially those who have been sentenced to death by civil court and appeal court.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said he will push for executions as soon as possible, within 60 days of the sentence of drug offenders, while he will amend relevant laws to prevent them from submitting petitions to the Supreme court.
