Ticket booths to move at Suvarnabhumi
« on: August 01, 2013, 02:18:03 PM »
Airports of Thailand (AoT) plans to relocate airlines' ticket sales booths from the 4th floor of the departure hall at Suvarnabhumi International Airport to the 6th floor, to give passengers more space.

According AoT, this will provide an extra 900 square metres of space in the departure hall.

At present, the 6th floor is used as office space by CAT Telecom. AoT expects the move will be finished before the end of the year.

Meanwhile,  Thai Airways plans to offer a new direct flight to Sendai, in Japan, this year, according to the airline's senior executive vice-president Chokchai Panyayong.

The new route comes after visa-free access to Japan was announced for Thai tourists in July. At present, THAI flies to five cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Sapporo.

All flights to Japan are popular routes and the airline wants to increase its services to capitalise on the high demand for seats, he said.
