« Reply #100 on: January 10, 2017, 03:41:41 PM »
The driver of the bus was a woman and she died of her injuries. twelve students were injured.  As you can see by the markings it's clearly forbidden to overtake at this stretch. BUT at the time of impact the bus looks like it's back in the right lane, so who's at fault...

No "Hand Brake" on a heavy duty truck. All air brakes. Most likely the adjusters on the air chambers need tightening up, simple maintenance or lack off same. typical in LOS. On the dash of a heavy goods vehicle you have to air valves one for service brakes and one for parking brakes. He probably set the "Parking Brake" but when the individual brake adjusters are not set properly that = no bakes at all, or very little.

Thaiga,

The finger starts pointing before the brain thinks. Scooter boy is going up against a vehicle much heavier and larger than his putt putt scooter, wearing no helmet etc.  All that car has to do is swerve to the right.  End of the pointing and threatening session. Just make sure you signal first. ;D

Another trick you can do is lure them so they get as close to your bumper as possible.  Hit the brakes hard then immediately speed up.  Look in your rear view mirror at scooter boy locking up his front brakes (Clueless using the back brake) and hitting the asphalt.  Gee, I'm sorry officer, a dog ran in front of my car and I didn't want to hurt and kill it, because here in Thailand there are huge penalties for causing harm to dogs, including the worthless strays. Legislation seeks to impose harsh punishments on animal rights violators, with a 2 year jail term, and fine of up to Bt40,000, or both, and I can't have that.
