The Nation ceases publication after 48 years  thaipbsworld.com

After 48 years on the newsstands, The Nation, Thailand’s leading English-language daily known for its independent and aggressive news reporting, publishes its last print edition today.

It's funny, that throughout my 30 years in Thailand, the printed THE NATION never really appealed to me. When I had the choice I would reach for the BANGKOK POST. But lately, I have to admit, THE NATION's website gives good reading. I guess it was just the marketing, the layout etc. that kept me from reaching for the printed THE NATION, when I looked for something to read at a newspaper stand.

The postman brought me NEWSWEEK and later TIME regularly. That was enough reading about the world.

But of course, the internet replaced any printed newspaper for me.
