Two luxury vehicles seized in Songkhla

SONGKHLA, Sept 13 -  Two luxury vehicles were seized at the Sadao border checkpoint in the southern province of Songkhla bordering Malaysia, according to a senior official.

Prayuth Maneechote, director of Customs Office  Region 4, said on Thursday that a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550 and a Nissan GT-R CBA-R35 are valued together at Bt30 million.

The two vehicles were found to have falsely registered documents for smuggling into Thailand for sale.

Legal action has been taken against Pern Kok Heng and Chew Eng Tian, both Malaysian nationals. They however rejected the charges, saying they were travelling to Phuket.

Mr Prayuth said that smugglers were attempting to deliver the cars to customers in Bangkok by road after the authority’s stringent checks on smuggling goods by ship.
