TOT workers caught stealing cable ( KHON KAEN )

KHON KAEN - A TOT employee and his friend were arrested on Wednesday and charged with possession of telephone cables stolen from two electricity poles in Nong Rua district.

Police apprehended Wanchai S, a TOT employee of the Khon Kaen branch, and Choksiri F, when they were discovered loading a 40-metre telephone cable section onto a pickup truck, Pol Col Thanomsit Wongwijarn, chief of Tha Rua police, said.

Another 40 metres of cable was found  in the vehicle, along with copper wire weighing 41 kilogrammes, along with pliers for cutting the wire.   Copper wire can be sold at 160 baht per kg, Pol Col Thanomsit said.

Bother suspects denied charges of theft, he said.
