ANYBODY ALREADY HAVE AN USUFRUCT ??
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:56:30 AM »
Hey All :)

Any of you Westerners already have a Usufruct in place between your Thai wifes home and your right to reside there?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/usufruct

In May we ( my wife ) buys our place ( her place! )

Would like to hear about what term ( in years ) you may have signed up for or was it for your life time?

What other clauses may you have added that I may need to be aware of???

As usual - Thanks in advance for your feedback :)

Buffy...

Buffy as I understand it a 'Usufruct' gives you the right to remain in the property for all of your lifetime but with no value from the property accruing to your estate on death.
IMO it is important to have one BUT of course, if things go pear shaped, of course, your Wife still has the right to be there too.
A 30 year lease on the property can be arranged.
Suggest you get some legal advice. Can recommend a Guy if you need one. GL.
