Visiting Korat. Need help locating village called Thalang
« on: August 04, 2015, 08:50:48 AM »
I will be staying two nights in Korat in September.
I will be visiting a Village called Thalang.

My girlfriend says on motorbike Thalang is 45 minutes from Korat and 20 minutes from Phimai.

Anyone know where this village is?
Unfortunately things like road numbers don't mean much to her  :)

Any help would be appreciated.

Cannot find Thalang on my map.
Why not meet in Korat and go to the village together.

Hi Crashedapp.  I think you are looking for Thalaeng which is a district that seems to match your query.  The main village in this area is called Huai Thalaeng (the google maps link is below).  It's on the main railway line to Buriram, so I would think that some trains will stop there and many buses will pass by.  Best of luck!

Take Highway 226.  It's right after Hin Dat. 226 is the same road that goes to Buriram. It's also the same road that goes to Nakhon Ratchasima airport.

Takitor & Baby Farts,

You were spot on -Thalaeng it is.

Showed girlfriend a top down 2D map and she still wasn't able to confirm.
Fortunately google street view works great and was able to confirm by recognizing buildings.

I appreciate your help so much.
