Hello Korat
« on: November 24, 2013, 09:18:52 AM »
Hello all members.

My first post on the forum.

Although not residing in Korat at this time due to work overseas, I consider the area to be my home and have family living in the area. My wife is from Korat and I'm from UK - although not lived there since the mid 90's.

Cheers to all.

Thanks for creating this forum and hope to be home in April, albeit for a week only.

 :cheers
Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday : )

Cheers guys.

Thanks for the  :cheers

I really look forward to the day that I can buy you a drink in person.

I have been in and out of Korat for about 11 years.

My heart has been stolen away a community called "Dongmaifai", my wifes place, on the borders of Ampur's, Pak Thong Chai, Pak Chong and Soongnerg, the nearest town is Sihkiu- nice market, brilliant place to lose time in.

My life is totally dominated by my work, at the age of 48 I suppose I am on right the track. Unfortunately that track isn't the one that includes Korat. Not to worry, all the best to all members of this forum and, as I said, I look forward to sharing a drink with ya!

Cheers!!!!

Presently residing in Kuala Lumpur by the way.

Interesting place but far from what I would consider as "home".

By the way, does every post dictate the need to have to type in a verification code and name the monument near the Amphur Muang offices in Korat?

I think you have to post at least five messages first.  I'm not sure, but it's not many.  JF will be able to answer that.

BTW, if you're ever in Sikhiu, there is a cool lake opposite Mittaphap road there called, "Sapadoo."  There are these little bungalo shack things that line the lake with several small restaurants that deliver right to your table.

Hi Soihok, Where are you in KL? As you have probably worked out we are living in  Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.  Perhaps see you for a beer some time?  TT (Soichongsipet)

Cheers guys.

Sapradoo,  been there many times, great food and loads of drinks. Its Sikhui by the sea!

We (Mrs Soihok, daughter number 2 and me) live near the Pavillion, Jalan Stonor to be exact. Do you know the small Thai restaurant on Changat Bukit Bintang, on the hill close to the junction of Jalan Alor? We were there today, best exchange rate when sending MYR to Thai Baht account.

Hope to see you there one Sunday.

BF is right: it's only for the first five posts. Very effective against spammers and trolls. They usually give up before. :evilgrin

Soihok, there are regular expat. gatherings at my wife's place in Pak Thong Chai if you want to hear the English or German languages while you are here. PTC is probably less than 30 minutes from where you base yourself.
