9 state banks join to offer services at PTT gas stations

Nine state financial institutions have signed on to work with PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc. and Thai Post Company to provide one stop financial services at gas stations nationwide.

The program was initiated to drive the nation’s economy and financial systems forward and will see the nine banks opening community style mall branches in PTT gas stations where citizens will be able to access financial services easily. The banks have a combined 46.5 million customers.

The branches will also offer products for SMEs and serve as platforms for E-markets. Thai Post is to help facilitate the transport of goods and study how to improve logistics between the stations in the future. The program is slated to begin in 2019.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Somkid Jatusripitak, pointed out the collaboration will generate jobs and help disperse income while also stimulating the grassroots economy and supporting SMEs. He has handed out a policy to the nine banks to expand cooperation to even more state enterprises with the intent of aiding grassroots citizens.
