Washington Navy Yard Massacre
« on: September 17, 2013, 07:38:54 AM »
CNN is reporting this as a 'rampage'. I suppose that's a more palatable term for the murder of 13 people and the wounding of others.

According to present reports, the killer showed his ID and drove into the yard with an AR15, a rifle and a Glock handgun. Presumably, he took the weapons from his car and walked openly into one of the buildings.

He was in trouble in 2004 in Alaska when he shot out the tyres of work colleagues.

Then he joined the Navy. During that time there was another shooting incident when he shot through the ceiling of his apartment. He was discharged from the Nay in 2010 because of his behavioural problems.

It's being said that he has a licence for the AR15.

Was he a fit person to own a gun? Was he a suitable candidate for the Navy? Was he a suitable person to be a sub-contractor at a Navy Yard.

It's reported today that he twice sought help because he was hearing voices and couldn't sleep. He was treated only for sleeplessness.

It's also said that a recent background check to do with his work for the Navy revealed noting of his past brushes with the law.

There's no longer any mention of an AR15. Most shots, it's reported, were fired from a 12 bore Remington pump action shot gun.

Anderson Cooper interviewed the husband and daughter of one of the victims. It was quite distressing to listen to them.

So much waste of life. Very sad.

Listen to Billy Ray Syrus:

Billy Ray Cyrus performs "Hope is Just Ahead" on The Today Show

Hope Is Just Ahead Lyrics
from Change My Mind

VERSE 1:
I wondered why I had the blues, so I turned on the evening news, children runnin' from their school because of some darn fool, had no morals he must prove. Another kid laid in the blood, another town drowned in the flood, just a tragic trail of tears, lessons not learned through the years, heaven save us from our fears.
CHORUS:
Hope is just ahead, sorrows just behind us, from what the good book says, "the truth will never find us" who's to say what we shall find, I guess the proof was sure in time, to them let's keep the dreamers big, surely hope is just ahead.
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
Oh, you gotta believe
You gotta keep your faith
Get down on your knees
Oh, you gotta believe
VERSE 2:
People fightin' in the streets, millions with no food to eat, how much longer can we last, if we learn nothin' from our past, these are the questions in our heads.
REPEAT CHORUS
To them, let's keep the dreamers big, surely hope is just ahead....mhmm
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
Oh, you gotta believe
Keep your faith
Get down on your knees
Oh, you gotta believe
Oh, you gotta believe
Gotta keep your faith
Get down on your knees
Oh you gotta believe

The gunman who slaughtered 12 people last week in Washington is seen darting through a Navy building like a special forces operator in a chilling video released Wednesday.
