The shock will rather be with his fellow Republican politicians, when they have to watch him ruining their party's image, when they need to hold him back for their own sake. All he's got now, is a chance given to him, no win of anything at all, yet. Will he prove able to improve the life situations of poor people in hat country, especially the poorer whites who in their vast majority voted for him, or will he run down things even further ? Only time can answer that! There will be a re-evaluation in four years.

Wall Street already reacted heavily to "his win", especially the stocks of the weapons' industry soared.  :-[

So would you rather have that criminal Hillary Clinton?  More emails coming out on how she mishandled classified information asking her maid in the past to print and fax classified Top Secret documents for her..... Also, how the Clinton foundation Charity used people's money to pay for things like their daughter's wedding etc.  Hillary is a criminal and should be in jail. Hillary isn't out of the woods yet.

"Between 2009 and 2012, the Clinton Foundation raised over $500 million dollars according to a review of IRS documents by The Federalist (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008). A measly 15 percent of that, or $75 million, went towards programmatic grants. More than $25 million went to fund travel expenses. Nearly $110 million went toward employee salaries and benefits. And a whopping $290 million during that period — nearly 60 percent of all money raised — was classified merely as “other expenses.”"

Article I, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution actually bans foreign payola for U.S. officials. The constitutional ban on foreign cash payments to U.S. officials is known as the Emoluments Clause and originated from Article VI of the Articles of Confederation. The purpose of the clause was to prevent foreign governments from buying influence in the U.S. by paying off U.S. government officials.  No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

"Oman, Qatar (which owns the Al-Jazeera network), Kuwait, and Algeria all funneled cash to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary was Secretary of State. Each country had business pending before the U.S. government. And it turns out that Hillary even met with the Algerian prime minister after her foundation cashed a $500,000 check from the Algerian government."

I would have wanted Bernie Sanders to become President of the US. But it wasn't me to choose. And yes, I would have preferred H.C. to Trump.

A week ago the Democratic Party insisted that everyone accept the legitimacy of the election. Then the left blasted Trump for suggesting the election was rigged, but they are okay with protesting a fair election and declaring it illegitimate because they hate the outcome. Amazing.

There is a simple solution - just send them to their allocated, "safe space" and confine them there until they grow up. If they do not have an appropriate safe place we can provide one for them, at the expense of their parents (who are ultimately to blame for their children's lack of mental and emotional maturity). We will give them new clothes to wear, wash and preserve their existing clothing and any personal valuables, and provide sleeping, recreational and restroom facitities along with three nourishing meals a day. These facilities can either be communal or solitary depending on the degree of progress they make coming to grips with the adult world and their emotional and intellectual role in it.

Who is "we", BF, a majority? The huge problem in the US is now, that Trump will be made President, while H.C won the popular vote. The country is split. Situations like that can easily escalate to a civil war. Especially in a country, where every nut can buy a gun.

The disregard of Human Rights, you seem to share with that guy, will hardly be in the majority's interest. "Grow Up", BF! And please refrain from hateful and fascist propaganda on this forum!

Trump already seems to make concessions: some of the worst parts have been removed from his website already. Are you sure, BF, that he'll still share your opinion, once he settled in? As I said before, he cannot do as he likes only, he'll be "supervised" by the rest of the Republican politicians. He'll need them, as they need him! And the "kids on the street" will need to be listened to instead of getting jailed, as you suggest, BF!

Build that wall

Mr Trump’s signature policy is that he will build a “great wall” along the border between the United States and Mexico to keep out migrants - and to force Mexico to pay for it.

I can't see a wall keeping people out - the UK is surounded by water  :spin

Fascist propaganda?  Please point out to me about what I posted that perceives me to be hateful, total disregard for human rights, and supporting fascist propaganda.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I stated facts and my opinion.

"We," meaning the tax payers, not necessarily the majority. The democrats are simply furious at the outcome of the election, and even though Hillary may have one the PV, it was only by a few hundred thousand.  That's a drop in the bucket.  People are condemning Trump before he's even taken office, all based on things he "said."

Quote, not from me:

"Trump's views are unconstitutional, illiberal and sometimes they trigger hate. But he did not take America to war in Iraq on flimsy evidence, establish Guantanamo in contravention of human rights law or license the torture of enemy combatants, oversee the gargantuan NSA data-gathering operation, launch a dirty war of drone strikes against both terrorists and those unfortunate enough to live near them, undermine the religious freedoms of employers who do not want to subsidize the sex lives of their workers, overrule the states' wishes on marriage, compel citizens to buy healthcare products or deport thousands of illegals through aggressive round-ups."

Civil war?  More like riots, violence, etc., especially towards Trump supporters. Here have a look at the latest.

Monk Claims His Magic Cloth Helped Donald Trump Win

Abbot Thongchai Thanjiaokhun of Wat Traimitr said Friday evening that that for the past seven months, Uranus has had a strong impact on Earth. Therefore, the astrologer believes leaders with the qualities associated with Uranus – change, innovation, idealism and freedom – would rise to a powerful position.

“Trump is the most qualified person and has these four qualities; therefore, he is fit to be the leader of 300 million Americans,” the abbot said. “Americans’ characteristics are like those of cowboys, so they have chosen a fitting leader.”

The abbot displayed one of his blessed pha yant, a type of mystical cloth believed to confer powers.

“President USA. Trump. Good luck. Win Win Win,” reads the purple cloth along with the date Aug. 29, 2016 written on it. It was shown with a letter claiming it was sent by by the director of a beauty school to Trump.

The Nov. 3 letter indicates the abbot prayed for Trump on Nov. 8, the day of the election, suggesting his powers might extend beyond linear time as well.

On Friday he displayed one of many reproductions of the cloth which he has been giving away since they went into production in August, a temple representative said Saturday.

Well maybe the people think they could benefit from the holy cloth, as disciples packed the temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat on Sunday in a scramble to get them. The people flocked to the temple when they learned that the assistant abbot would give out two types of talisman, one of them the same as sent to Mr Trump. I take it they all kindly give a donation  ::) Here's the story (below) from the Bangkokpost.

Trump said he is accepting no salary, lets hope he'll pass it on to a worthy cause - but that would hardly worry a man with money, who's latest estimate is valued at around $3.7 billion - John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover donated their salaries to charity, according to the Independent Journal Review.

Markets indeed fell across Asia, and while Trump’s presidency policies seem to have an alarming aversion to globalization, in this article from forbes.com, it discusses how Trump’s victory will benefit startup ecosystems in Asia. Yes, BENEFIT, no typo here.

Here's Why Trump's Triumph Will Be Good For Asia's Startups

Uncertainty may drive VC money to Asia, incubating more high quality startups

Investors do not like uncertainty, no matter what type of investor they are. Unfortunately, Trump’s administration does not have many clear stances on the tech industry. The explicit stance against certain tech giants such as Amazon (Jeff Bezos, to be exact), Apple and IBM, can be correlated to uncertainties around the innovation and sustainability of startups in the U.S. and therefore pose a much higher risk for investing in startups in the U.S. In the last 18 hours, we have already experienced a healthy increase in traffic and sign-ups on Oddup from investors in the U.S. I expect some investment to flow to the Asian startup ecosystems, providing for more high quality startups going forward.

A tighter U.S. immigration policy could send more talent to Asia

It was of no surprise to hear Trump’s advocacy of tighter limits on immigration again. The reign on foreign worker visas will be tightened – this is one of Trump’s key campaign intentions. This has no doubt set off alarm bells across the U.S. tech industry which compensates and relies on highly-skilled immigrants. In my view, the tighter immigration policy could drive some talent away from Silicon Valley and the U.S. may lose its attractive sheen for young foreign tech graduates looking to work in tech startups. An alternative choice could be Asia.

Entrepreneurs in Asia are not as affected

Trump is an experienced entrepreneur and can empathize with the ...
