Robert Bales get Life Without Parole
« on: August 24, 2013, 10:29:57 AM »
In March 2012, Staff Sergeant Robert Bales made two trips from his base on the same night and murdered 16 Afghan men, women and children in their homes. He was returned to the US and some suspected that he would get away with it in the same way that the My Lai massacre perpetrators did.

In fact, he was brought before the Court in the US and made a plea bargain to avoid the death sentence. Witnesses from Afghanistan are dissatisfied with the outcome.

I don't understand why he was not tried in Afghanistan. Perhaps, in a few years' time, a American psychiatrist will find that he is cured of whatever ailed him and he will be released to study a subject of his choice.
