They let him escape by just dying? A couple of hundred years on life support would have meant safety for so long. Now we're exposed to, gotta be afraid of, his "supernaturality". ;)

they say this guy was blacklisted by movie directors for years after this performance. He could not get any roles because everybody was scared of him.

I do remember, that the song "Helter Skelter" by the Beatles (from the White Album) had been banned from airplay by many radio stations, because idiot Manson was reported saying at some point, that he had been inspired by that to "clearing the world of unworthy life".

My my how prudish banned from the airwaves, how the world has changed, i suppose it was Bad Taste With Radio Program Chiefs.
Yes Helter Skelter along with many others was banned. I don't know about radio Luxembourg though, oh the memories, radio Caroline was a great favourite in them days.

More accusations were thrown at songs such as Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven and the Eagles’ Hotel California as evangelists claimed they included backwards messages that would incite Satan, oh dear how primitive. Was it that the authorities didn't understand the power of rock or didn't they like the noise. 8)
