Its a sad day but it seems sport rider has decided to give up the koratfarng forum and let it lay to waste.

It's such a waste of time and I'm tired.

I don't have reason to doubt it. A lot of the guys who were treated like idiots and banned by SR were decent guys with valid points, no trolls. In many so-called troll attacks he should not have interfered or taken the side he did. An admin should cool, "moderate", instead of playing the judge and "hang" the wrong guy. Running a forum is not about gaining friends mainly, it's a job, a task.

There does seem to be a lot of people attracted to running forums who just want to masturbate whilst banning people and looking at the "admin" after their user name, never understood that myself, well, apart from the odd bannings I do every day at the best forum in the world

It's more a matter of coincidence who of those really proves capable of running a forum, of hitting the right nerve. SR tried many "nervings", very often hitting the wrong nerves.

Of all the suggestions given in that thread there is only one that could work in my opinion: exchanging the admin with somebody who can think both sides in case of a conflict. But who would want to continue a board that's in the slump already, that was started as a common project by many people who discussed with each other (on TV) before, but were scattered by the admin's mismanagement. Would those who helped to start it and got driven away give up their own projects and mind to return after these "occurences"? I think that is most unlikely. Life went on. Should they return to an earlier point in history - now that it is clear that they were right with their warnings - and give it a second try? A new admin would first have to convince them by changing things drastically. Is that possible? I personally would rather take my experience and invest it into another new project instead of helping somebody to get KF out of the slump.

Look at it from the other side: would the members, SR's fans, accept a new admin that is changing a lot to get things running smoothly? Who would dare to make a fool of himself trying?

And one suggestion just cannot be made: Delete the board and walk into the sunset and hide in the jungle.

For that he shouldn't have asked, just done it!

People have strange ideas about ips, here in Thailand most of us are on shared ips anyway, it is quite common on servers to stick 100 different domain names on the same ip, cheap maxnet connections are shared between several thousand people on each ip, so don't put too much thought into ips otherwise you will be chasing imaginary ghosts, one of the German proxy servers serves 750,000 people perday, yep, they are all seen as being on the same ip, so unless you know about proxy servers and how to recognise proxies which a lot of the time is impossible, ip means fok all.

Look at it as an advertisement! Perhaps he is just waiting for an offer that takes it off his hands and leaves something else of value in them. What else can he do but wait longer or carry on accumulating value, if no (suitable) offer arrives?

This forum provides facilities that others do not. For example, it allows people such as you to post without registering and, therefore, without taking responsibility for what you write. You clearly have a need for such a forum.

It's also much more open in what it allows than most other forums.

What is the importance of, well, what is it of which you complain? If you measure the worth of a forum by the number of posts then Korat Farang is not the one for you either. There are many larger ones. Is it heated debate and intelligent discussions as you indicate in your post? Well, if there aren't enough for you here, get posting! You might consider registering first so that Admin. has some information about you.

Perhaps you have a forum of your own or you do something else for the community that you would like to share with us. After all, the farang in Korat have very little provided for them and adding to what is there is better than knocking it down, don't you agree?

You know what's funny, Saf. The very thing he bitches and whines about, he does himself. The things he bitches about this board take place on a much larger scale over at KF. There are more insults thrown around on that board than K-Fart. It's typically the same group of people, but nothing is ever done about it. No one says anything when they do it because they are part of the "Elite Veteran" members. That is the problem that has plagued that forum for several years now and it continues to operate the same way to this day. The heated debates and discussions are long gone because some of the best members / posters got fed up with the forum and deleted their accounts. What you have now is a forum filled with mostly useless information....convoluted rubbish. Almost anything can be found via google.
