Get this on my screen since yesterday. Does it mean they have been hacked? Is it really dangerous to open that site now? What could happen to me or my PC?

In order to enable privacy protection for your domain name, you need to contact the Sponsoring Registrar and ask them if they provide the service. You can find the Sponsoring Registrar by performing a whois lookup for your domain name.


Who pays them?....the "sponsoring registrar whoIS probably a member of their staff.

2 How much do you charge for this service?

This service is provided free of cost. No payments are to be made to PrivacyProtect.org for the service.

How do they stay in business?  Notice the directive, "No payments ARE to be made to PP.org."  Oh?  Why not?  You need to pay the "Sponsoring Registrar" whoIS actually employed by them.


3 I would like to get in touch with the owner of a domain name, but the whois information shows PrivacyProtect.org.

If the whois information shows PrivacyProtect.org in the contact details, it merely implies that the actual owner has requested that their contact information be protected from public display. PrivacyProtect.org does not own the domain name. If you need to contact the actual owner of a domain name, you can use the Contact Domain Owner form on the home page.

Always a "form" you need to fill out.  If the owner of a domain isn't involved in any criminal activity, why the extra measures to conceal their identity?....especially if you're just running a forum like k-f?

4 How do I disable privacy protection for my domain name?

The services of PrivacyProtect.org are provided through a set of domain name Registrars, and are thus managed through the respective Registrars' control panels. In order to disable this service, you need to login to the control panel provided by your registrar and do so. If you do not know how, please contact your Sponsoring Registrar's support team.

Don't you love how they throw this jargon around, "Sponsoring Support Team."   Control panels (actually THEIR employees).

5 A domain name using your privacy protection is involved in spamming / spreading malware / phishing / child pornography / other forms of abuse. Where do I report this problem and get it to stop?

We are very particular about ensuring that our services are not used to camouflage any abusive, malicious or illegal activity. That being said, the service is available to nearly 3 million domain names, and we might not be able to track down every one immediately. In case you find any domain name using PrivacyProtect.org services indulging in any kind of illegal activity, please inform us using the Report Abuse form on the home page, and provide all evidence that you can about such activity.


Look at these guys..LOL.. Inform them of illegal activity, (again using their "form). Make sure you provide ALL evidence so that they can have time to inform their client of any illegal activity they may be involved in and allow THEM as well as PP.org to take the time and any preventive measures to make sure they don't get caught.

Our compliance team will review the complaint and disable the service for the domain name, to unmask the identity of the person who owns it. We shall also forward the complaint to the Sponsoring Registrar so they may take appropriate action on the domain name itself; you might want to contact the Registrar directly as well.

LOL Yeah, they are so particular because they don't want people to know that it is THEM who is masking all this illegal activity.  Again, you have to fill out a form or contact the other guy.

Wait wait...now they have a "Compliance team."  Now there's an oxymoron if there ever was one...and they say they will "disable the service" of a domain after they review a complaint....but in FAQ 1 they say

"WE DO NOT SELL THIS SERVICE OR OFFER IT DIRECTLY IN ANY FASHION"

So they offer this service for free, they are not (as they claim) involved directly, yet they can disable the "service" of a domain should a complaint arise.


6 I need to transfer my privacy protected domain name to another registrar. How will my admin contact receive the transfer mail?

When a domain name is to be transferred to another registrar, the new registrar sends an email to the administrative contact of the domain name. If the domain name uses privacy protection, the Registrar would not be able to determine the correct email address for the admin contact. As such, you need to disable the privacy protection service for your domain name before you place a transfer request.

In other words, if someone catches on to any illegal activity going on, how can one transfer that illegal activity to another "Sponsoring registrar?"



*Called their number PP.org only to be directed to an "Automated" answering service.  The voice of the  female "automated" service appears to be that of a person originating from a country known for its production of films commonly referred to as Bollywood.  The automated service goes on to say that they do not accept phone calls and that any messages are discarded...then the automated service ends with a BEEP for you to leave a message.

Excellent pdf download.  Again, why would someone who runs a crappy forum in the middle of Isaan have the need to use such a service, let alone have knowledge that this particular one even exists?  There are other companies who offer the same services and are able to be contacted.  If one were to look at how much time TP (Toilet paper) spends online and his knowledge of the net, etc, one might come to the conclusion that......

Please don't take this for an April Fools special, but the 600 emails somebody sent to the people who had signed up on his website over the years seem to have increased the interest in both forums whose admins were involved in the controversy that triggered that desperate appeal, and caused some changes in their forums' standing. Will that be lasting or just temporary interest? Ironically the sender's opponent seems to have benefited a lot more. Maybe credit will be claimed for that someday: "You don't know all that I have done for..."

It consists of pages with RSS feeds of various forums and blogs where you can observe activity on all of them at one glance. korat-forum.com looks like a new forum, it has appeared from nowhere: a profile cannot be seen yet, members and admin are not known, in short it's still an upstart.
