Korat-Farang Farce
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:59:22 AM »
While browsing this interesting "new" forum, something caught my eye.  How is it that people who have only become members in 1-3 months have over 1500+ posts?  Even the Admin of Koratfart hasn't hit the 2000 mark since 2009, so how is it that all these new members of K-F are able to hit 1500-1700 posts in a few months? That would require and average of 17 posts a day, and when you look at the average number of posts from these users on other forums, it isn't even near that number.

How is it that the user names are identical to user names on other forums, but the style of writing is not the same?  For example, embedding videos, drawing red circles around inserted pictures, the size of the pictures, etc. There is one member there that I know personally and have known for a long time.  He is a well known member on another forum.  When asked him to have a look at K-F which had his user name, he assured me it was not him.

I'm not going to mention any names, but have a look for yourself.

I am a memeber of K-F as well as this forum. The number of posts from a few members are, indeed, high when compared to other forums. The reason for this is that the forum is only very new and, until membership grew, it was necessary to post lots of times to build some momentum.  ;D

I suppose that means, if your nick is already on the member list and posting for you by itself you don't need to register and post anymore. ;D

Not very likely for a nick being used by the same person on three of four forums, and then getting used by another person on a fourth and also otherwise "identical looking" new forum without realising that this nick has been used in that geographic community by someone else known by many for years. :-[

Makes me personally think it might not be safe to register there and start sending confidential PMs to people I know by their nicks only  from other regional forums. They might not be the same!

Maybe the admin there just used some new kind of magic or even distributed "Yaba for forum nicks" that makes known nicks post in two months on one new hardly-known look-alike forum as much as on three old and quite well-known forums together in three or more years all by themselves, and with a completely new style. ;D

Ain't Korat fabulous?

The posts are generally frivolous and joky. Sometimes there is a bit of a debate. No nastiness as yet. All harmless fun as far as I can see.  ;D

Are his "feelings" currently hurt?

The morning brought news: he actually seems to be upset about something posted on this forum. Heaven knows what! Maybe he could be so nice to tell us, post about it here on this forum, or send me a PM, if it's a sensible affair. We don't want to hurt his feelings, just spread necessary and important information. And not be too serious all the time! ;D

This screenshot was in the forum's mailbox this morning:

The sender has asked to remain anonymous to keep the admin there from having problems with the other brothers. He seems embarrassed to have been involved into such an affair naming another forum as reason for him getting banned, and he swears he doesn't know what it's about. He said he made a few posts on that forum, never using a proxy server definitely not provoking anybody or "trolling", always contributing in a polite and constructive manner, posting honestly from his internet connection. And even helped a friend who was visiting his home to register there.

Now, I do understand from that screenshot that the admin of the new forum of brotherly love has already banned a member for what he regards as "trolling". So what! Shouldn't be our problem! I heard before that some animals eat their own babies; what's unusual about the chief of the loving brothers' forum pushing one of theirs out the door into the cold heat?

But I can't keep from wondering about this construction previously unknown to me: "Trolling by proxy - KFart"! What is that? Can somebody help me to find out how a member of his forum can be "trolling by proxy"? Ok, I've heard that trolls often use a proxy server to hide their real identity. But KFart isn't a proxy server, it's a forum! And above all a forum where nobody makes flaming posts etc, where all members live and post in harmony. I'm shocked! Did the banning admin eat any cookies or other consumables not becoming him? Or was he just wearing a shirt of a "disturbing colour"? :-[

In any case the question is: "Is this condition now permanent and should we better take precautions?"

Please contribute by posting your opinion! :)

Naw, I think he means something else then using a proxy server by "Trolling by proxy - KFart" He seems to see a threat for the peace on his forum arising from the facts that have been posted on this forum here. Looks to me like the totalitarian forum, where you even get punished and banned for something you said in another "jurisdiction" and which on top might have been interpreted wrong by the "judge"-admin. Means that even if you're posting on other forums you got to follow his rules. :o

In any case it shows again that this here forum is read intensively, like they're pressing their noses onto their monitors not to miss a letter that gets posted here. We should be honored! :)
