Thanks for the invitation to help spoil your new board! But how to do that? Is there a recipe?

Just be like you are. There'll always be guys in Korat saying you'd "spoil" it that way. You know the aristocrats of that "certain other forum"! Hey, I like that expression "certain other forum". But you can call it by its name here.  ;)

One of the ways to spoil a forum is by letting others know in the open which real person you are. Then there'll be guys trying to make you loose your face. And because everybody knows your real face you gotta defend it. That how the fights start. That's when topics aren't just topics anymore: they'll turn into personal affairs. So if you want to spoil a forum just give everybody notice of your real identity. If you want to get into contact with somebody personally you can use PM. No show fights necessary! 8)

Very best way is by posting truisms all the time. Everybody's got something to add to them, boring the death out of readers and other posters. Makes fighting even a pleasure. Just to escape all the dumb talk about matters of course everybody knows and agrees with. Not being controversial is the best way to kill a forum. Not encouraging a discussion but just asking for confirmations to prove yourself clever.

Right! Posting stuff that can be read in just about every other forum doesn't appear as posting information or even chatting. Would look more like "I got nothing to say, but I wanna talk!" Just what most forums are stuffed up to the brim with.  :(

Sure, the trivialities can kill a forum. Do you think sensationalist posting is any better? ::)

Depends on what the sensations are: "Bargirl spotted in Pattaya" or "Banned from TV and KF again"? :D

Start a couple of threads with these titles and see what happens. My guess is you'd get more than the single post (up to now) that was posted today.  ;D

heres a good topic you may wish to look at again as your doing a good job of killing your own forum, persons may well read these posts, though look at your postings of the last few weeks well down on previous months, only now you have opened up the visitor posting again, you get a few posts, i know of many people in korat that have said they will never post here again because of your policy of protecting certain posters.

My dear Korat Nutter,

would you receive guests in your house any time, or only when you feel like receiving guests? :)

And a forum doesn't "get posts": its members do contribute. I'm sorry that you had to wait so long to make yourself read again. Shouldn't have asked me to delete your member account. :-[

There's nothing wrong with the frequency of posting on this forum. KoratFart Forum is doing fine! Do you think readers want to read 50 meaningless posts a day?

It's their own decision, if they don't choose this to be their circle of friends. It's just the same with every forum: you choose where you want to be a member. And most forums fare fine that way. Other forums for example have strict admission policies to protect their circle from people who only sign up because they want to abuse and fight with others. Then threads have to be removed by moderators and members getting banned etc. Another forum in Korat has a fair share of that. :-[

Cheers,

Johnnie F
