How much are the doggies . . . ?
« on: February 17, 2009, 04:35:06 PM »
Do you love pets? Do you own a pet? Have you got a pet poisoned by an idiotic farang?

How can guys be so obnoxious to advise others on an open internet forum to poison their neighbours pets and guard dogs? Yes, just those guys who take everything to be their personal right not minding other people's spheres at all.

If I don't go to the same louts' bar as them, so they can brawl there as much as they want. But can the idiocy of advising stuff like that on the internet get beaten? :-[

The pot calling he kettle black, for sure. They should mind their own business but it's ok for you to criticise them for doing what they do. Umm. I wonder how far that registers on the hypocrisy scale.

Hypocrisy? You mean all those guys investing money and work into more humane standards by for example supporting the ASPCA are hypocrits? So what does ASPCA stand for ...Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. When I poisoned my neighbor's dog so he dies a very painful death I didn't interfere with the owner's personal rights only, destroying his property. I showed him my strength without revealing that it was me. Acting strong and being a coward at the same moment. And on top of that I prove myself to be inhumane.

Couldn't I have respected my neighbor by talking to him and together with him setting up a system of burglary protection that made his dogs superfluous or contained their noise?

You forgot that it is just impossible to talk to other people who don't speak your language. Even if they learned english in school or elsewhere they will never understand a word of it when it gets to something that they are accused of doing wrong. The master has to speak their tongue or he has no face. And now imagine you would speak Thai how could you still be the one on top, talking with the authority of a guy who brought his working class fortune to Thailand and therefore is entitled to dictate the rules being the new kid on the block. ;D

Then there is also the possibility of buying the dogs for more than a plastic bucket. ;D

Picture a thai teenager trying to practice his english by reading those farang boards about Korat: how well that forms his attitudes towards those farangs who want to poison his pet friend?

Since he doesn't know who that one idiot is he concludes that all farangs are bad! Especially since he sees that some of them also do own dogs barking to tell their masters about unknown people coming. They poison dogs but don't want their dogs poisoned either. Oh, well they themselves do not poison dogs? But why don't they hold those back who do? Why are they so very much different than our teachers tell us to be? That must be life in the ugly west! How can they know that those are just outcasts of the life in the west instead of the heroic acting exiled guys who just love Thailand so much that they want to force their rules upon people there instead of convincing them to improve their life? :-[

So he's stupid and knows nothing about logic. He's as bad as all those idiot farang men who spend a week in Pattaya and then conclude that all Thai women are whores or prostitutes. Same logic.

How can they know........
It's called education. If he learned to think for himself instead of parrotting or copying others without thinking, and if he learned more about the world outside of his own narrow focus he'd know that there are good and bad everywhere. There are good and bad farangs here as well as there are good and bad Thais.

Yes, I am! I haven't seen any other country for quite a while. And I like Thailand and especially Korat so much that I don't want to let things go down the drain. I'm not about to resort to booze and bitchin'. No reason to give up trying, because I just don't see everything as hopeless. I see slow but steady advances. And I know that it is up to me how I arrange my life.

About the dogs: When I moved out here and built my house there were lots around, too. In my immediate vicinity are eight houses with only two dogs remaining. None was poisoned. But our ricefield village community here built walls and fences. My house is surrounded by a big garden with lots of trees and bushes, you might call it a park even. Further down the road the people have some dogs. When they come inside the gate in the daytime I only show them a stick. That convinces them not to stay. The bushes and trees keep most noise away, when they're barking at somebody on the road in the night. Our dog makes sure nobody comes inside the wall and fences in the night. My neighbors which live on three sides of my land live in harmony with me, respecting me, asking for my advice in some matters and would never dare to upset me. I respect them as well, but show them also how far they can go only. And if somebody poisoned my dog I'd raise hell.

Needless to waste much on the attitude "Thais are stupid". How about being a responsible member of society and helping out in educating them? There are lots of ways without spending much or any money. They'll be happy meeting a foreigner who not only pounds on them but actually tries to help them.

Where did I say all Thais are stupid? I said 'He is stupid'. There is a big difference. And who is he? That one hypothetical character given by airbag for us to imagine.

And why do you assume that I'm not a responsible member of society helping out in educating Thai folks?

If you want to discuss education in Thailand, by all means go ahead and start a thread on that. If people see that thread title, they might contribute to it rather to than a thread about the price of dogs on another forum.

There is a good report about "the seedy world of Southeast Asia's booming dog meat trade" there

The Dog Meat Mafia: Capture

The Dog Meat Mafia: Corruption

The Dog Meat Mafia: Conscience

Sorry, too long to copy the whole over here. :-[
