Hi Chimera, welcome to this forum!

Have a look at that topic:

As to your criticism of the other forum, you'll find, that we don't apply the same measures here.

If the regular posters (>99 posts) disagree with another member's overall performance on the forum, they can let him and others know by the Karma points. Those can always be changed the other direction again after a few days. As to disagreements on topics, I would find a discussion boring, if there were none. :)

Thanks for that  :cheers

Hi Chimera, welcome.  You are not the only one to be banned from K-F. Provided your views on Communists and homosexuals co-incide with mine then we should have no arguaments!

I think your post sums up the situation on K-F perfectly, thanks for your input BF.

Just a bit of background, i've lived in Korat for nearly 7 years now with my Thai wifey so hopefully i will have something constructive to bring to the board. I'm like most, retired and old but still consider myself to be the oldest teenager in Korat :lol and married to a Thai lady that is young enough to be my daughter, but hey live is for living...... :lol

I look forward to having a bit of banter and exchanging info with you guys.

Welcome to the forum, Chimera.  Don't feel bad or that you're missing anything over at K-F.  Many of the posts there are convoluted rubbish.  Alfie IS the admin and owner of that forum.  I don't need to go into detail about this guy, but if you do a search here on this forum, you can find a lot of info about him which describes his abnormal behavior and misanthrope personality.  You need to remember that it is a virtual power thing with him and it is due to the fact that he is not in control of his own life nor is he able to control people in RL like he did when he used to work for immigration at Heathrow in the past.  The only way to vent that anal retentive behavior is to do it on the internet by being an admin of a forum and executing his "make believe" power by banning people when someone hurts his feelings, makes him look bad by pointing out his fault, etc.  I think you get the point.

You'll find that this forum has some very valuable contributors and I can say that many of them are long time vets to Thailand who have lived here for quite sometime.  Sure, we get a little restless at times, but that's just how forums are.  Many of us know each other in RL.  Don't ever feel reserved in asking for advice or help with anything here.  I can guarantee you that the folks here will do what they can to answer your questions, and if not, direct you to someone who can.

Cheers   :cheers

Hello Chimera - TVR? You'll be lucky to post at all on here without an argument so let's go ! LOL
Noticed on Sky News and elsewhere, the Greenpeace Guys now being bailed in Russia are getting a VIP sentimental treatment.
I massively sympathise with the aims of Greenpeace - really - but ffs - if you board a Russian patrol boat in mid ocean what the hell do you expect ? It's criminal behaviour and won't do any good.
Those being released seem to be enjoying the 'hero' spotlight although IMO they are loopy and irresponsible. The youngest one of the team being released has just said it was 'horrible' in prison. Dooh - what did they expect ?
The UK press seem to enjoy the being able to obliquely do some 'Russia bashing' yet the UK is as negligent as most other nations in its environmental attitudes.
I feel better now - welcome !

I'm a newbie on this board, so hi to everyone.

I hope this board is not like Korat-Farang where i was banned from. It would appear KF is run by (Admin) what i can only describe as a sad b...... who takes exception to him or his mates being challenged on something they know f... all about. This i duly did by asking/posting "What sort of reply do you call that ?" my post was removed, and when i asked why, i was told because it was aggressive towards 'Alfie'. I then politely reminded the SB that people in a position of power should not abuse it, i was then banned.

I hope to make a worthwhile contribution to the board in the future, if allowed lol
