All quiet on the western front

All is quiet on the western front today. It's a lazy day in cyber world. There's just the constant hum of a hard disk going round and round; going nowhere at a lethargic 3000 rpm. Even that sounds tired. A disk drone.

Posters are few and far between, and there is no music to wake me from my mental slumber. There are no birds singing in the trees outside and the sick old man is still sleeping in his bed. He couldn't be bothered to get up and crawl into his hammock. Swinging it would take too much energy.

What hope for excitement I once harboured has gone - faded into distant memory, covered in a blanket of thin grey cloud, disappeared into the ether. How forlorn the life of an expat with too much time on his hands and too little to do with them.
