MHK is a hair salon, I was at Steak Story last night and looked to see what the Walrus had become.
There is a nice ice cream/desert shop on the corner by the traffic lights

It was re-opened earlier this year as a Kebab restuarant but then closed again after a few months.
A few doors away is another restuarant called Steak Story  which is reasonable

My Pal tells me Tony is re-opening the Walrus, the plan being to open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only.

In the City today I noticed that the Walrus Bar is already shut, since the 5th November, but will happily be reopening on December 1st. I'm guessing someone has bought it from Tony but we'll see.

Just noticed this thread - Tony of the Walrus told us he is closing full stop on the 13th November and I am sorry about that as I think He and Mrs T did a good job there.
Hope someone takes it over soon.

Dawn, The Walrus is in Sueb Siri Road which is a branch off Suebsiri Road.  If you come out of Korat on Suebsiri Road heading for the Army base then Sueb Siri road is a major t junction with a right turn at the traffic lights.  The Walrus is on the left hand side just after the right turn.  Yes I have seen at least one Thai lady customer.

I was in the new Walrus a few days ago - it's different but I quite liked it. The place feels a lot more open and airy. Brighter.
New tables and chairs ok for me. Hope it goes well for them .......

I had a Leo in the newly refurbished Walrus this lunch time.  The inside is now painted grey.  The traditionalists might be upset that the wooden tables and benches have been replaced by ordinary tables and chairs.

Tony is a cool guy and it's nice to see the renovations coming.  That whole area is becoming a hot spot for cafe's and restaurants.

TT don't know a lot but Fred told me the bar was being taken over by a Dutchman - I later met the new Guy and he seems pleasant enough. So I'd guess you saw a refurb under way. ATB

Does anyone here follow the Korat bar scene? I came past the Walrus today and looks like major demolition taking place.  Refurbishment or closing?
