Most people say they don't want to be alerted  to a local restaurant's Sunday menu or special offers on forums, calling it SPAM, others are still interested in finding out before they go there. I think George and Dragon's new blog on the internet can serve these purposes to everybody's liking.

The blog is situated at

closed due to non-use

Not only can up-to-date information about events, menus, specials and prices get looked up there directly, you can enter the RSS feed into your email client. Then you'll get an alert about every new post. The feed has the address

closed due to non-use

People wanting to support their favorite pub can also integrate a feedbox into their website, or link to it from their Facebook page etc.

P. S. The following post is a feed import from George and Dragon's Blog for testing purposes. Still have to find out how to use this feature best way.

Is F1 something to do with motor racing or an offer of one free lady?  :)

Must have something to do with "feeding". After we know this automatic feed posting does actually work I better turn that one off, so we don't have to read all of Andy's old and new enthusiastic blog posting on this forum. That one is an old post anyway. He posted that here already on March 15, 2013, 01:10:34 PM.:-[

Dawn, do you think that something like the Feed Poster Mod could have even got tested without? The problem of businesses wanting to use the forums for their advertising isn't new at all. But forums are not and should not be businesses. Still somehow they cause expenses.

From discussions on Korat-Info I learned that it is best to outsource local business advertisement on blogs that people can look up when they're actually interested in the info given by that business. But of course there needs to be a phase for people to become aware of the outsourcing. This can be done by temporary feed posting from that blog. I'm very interested in finding out, how we can balance the interests of all users of this forum.

Still we're not at the point yet, where it imports the latest post. Still gotta keep finding out how to set that right.

Properly registered hotels are, however, exempted from the ban under the Hotels Act :cheers

Visakha Bucha Day falls on the full moon day of the sixth lunar month.  It commemorates the birth,
enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha.

Just go to any mini-mart.  They'll sell you booze.

Rumors are, it's up for sale now:

Established and successful Bar and Restaurant for Sale

Looks like only people who enjoy cooking and run real restaurants with Western food stand a chance in Korat, like Detlef at O&D and Andy at Chez Andy etc., but serving alcoholic beverages mainly (so-called watering holes) never did so well in Korat. People are old and naggy, don't like to or cannot anymore drive far to the next watering hole just for a few pints without a decent bite in between, or maybe because they actually mind DWI regulations a little. And there are no outspoken quarters (ghettos) for farangs in need of watering holes, where many of those down on their luck ("Bad Thailand, bad wife, bad everything") have ended up close together within walking distance of one.

If beer and booze could be served by a bartender patient enough at the keyboards in their homes...

Also, there is competition just around the corner from G&D from Nomu Bar which has recently opened.  It looks a good deal more appealing than G&D which is definitely in need of a refurb.
