"Antiquarian John Leland wrote in the 16th century that the Belvoir "castle stands on the very nape of a high hill, steep up each way, partly by nature, partly by the working of men's hands"

A steep, high hill erected by nature and the working of Men's hands.

Refreshed from exploring Belvoir, Don and Phyl are putting on an alternative to the official Olympic games. The explained that, because of the limited space available at Swingers, most events will be on a small scale.

Don will lead the opening ceremony with a a stunning display in his Lancaster cockpit, situated in the back yard. Phyl will enthral members with her Dance of the Seven Bedsheets. The newly formed singing trio, the Beaver Sisters, will offer a number of favourite songs, including the Rugby Club version of Swing Low, complete with actions.

The first two events have already been announced:

1. Tossing the caber.

2. Bitch volleyball.

The Swingers' Olympics will be costly to promote and so Don has asked male members to leave a donation in the jug by the front door.

It may be so well supported that two jugs are required!

Thaiga, do your computer graphics skills extend to designing a Swingers' Olympic rings logo?

There's a competition in that. Complete this sentence:

I had a beer with Five Ring .......

I like the first suggested logo. What's that flag in the second? Is it from the chain store 'Guns R Us'?

Good idea but, unfortunately, Muff Bay is in the Republic of Ireland and so cannot take part.

Dam.n!  What about the ring toss competition?  Word has it that a certain lad from a country just North of the States will be defending his Olympic title.

Don and Phyl have announced the Swingers' second annual members' vacation.

The destination is in England again, this time in the beautiful Lake District town where William and Dorothy Wordsworth were born - Cockermouth. An all in package will be offered with a discount for any traveller willing to fly by Dreamliner. As last year, everything will be included in the package price, including a munch as much as you like final evening at the Bitter End.

As a result of a small problem that occurred last year, travellers will be asked to provide a blood test report at the time of booking.

New members will, subject to availability, be eligible to join the group so join now if you're not yet a member.
