New Coffe Shop / Restaurant. BANNBUT
« on: September 24, 2013, 11:24:55 AM »
They just opened yesterday.  It's a lovely coffee shop that also has a menu of Thai food and pastries.  I had a Latte and it was great.  The place is located on the road to SUT about a 1/2 Kilometer before Pitini's restaurant on the same side.  It's in between Highland coffee and Pitini.  It's a green cabin / house looking place with very modern looks and a lovely garden setting. Some photos.

I think that's the place that Paul Pitini recommended to me. If so, they buy his cakes and bread.  I'd rather have a coffee and chat with Paul.

Here's an update.  My wife, kids, wife's best friend and her husband (an Air Force General) and their kid, had a late lunch there yesterday.  Here's what we ordered.

Pork Fried Rice
Spaghetti with seafood (Thai style)
Mussels
Pork and Rice (Southern Thailand style "Moo grua gring)    หมูคั่วกลิ้ง
Some other pork and rice dish (See Klong Moo Pat ta-Kai)  ซี่โครงหมูผัดตระไคร้
two orders of french fries
Chicken wings

Two hazelnut Lattes
Strawberry smoothie
two cokes
1 mint ice cream
1 Lava brownie
1 Strawberry & Ice cream cake

The bill came to around 1,200 baht which as you can see is a pretty fair deal for the amount of food.  On top of that, the food was very good.  Portions were very generous as well.  Since the place is still new, they are sorting things out day by day, but I really enjoy this place and the garden atmosphere.  The General was impressed, which was a relief for me :).

I think it's great that we have all these great places opening up along that stretch of road to SUT.  I envision that road to become "restaurant row."  You've got Pitini, The Frog, The Thai seafood restaurant, etc.  This is really good business for everyone because it will attract more people to the area and drive one another's businesses.

It's a bit more than a coffee and cake place, then.

I agree that the road is looking good for eating out. Unusually, there is variety rather than the usual cluster of copy cat restaurants.

It most definitely is.  Not that many farang food items, but I think there will be in the future.
