For those that are interested, PB restaurant is hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner on November 26th.  350 baht gets you a full turkey meal, smoked salmon, veggies, the whole nine yards.  Pauolo does request making reservations before the 24th.  Meals will start to be served at noon until closing.  PB restaurant is located on the corner of soi 13 behind the Sima Thani hotel.  (Soi Farang).

Difficult to say how many of the by average daily 80 - 90 unique visitors of this site are actually American, and how many American friends of our readers will be told about it. Fact is that neither Paolo nor me are American. I probably don't go there to celebrate Thanksgiving. But years ago when I was still living in town I used to celebrate the 4th of July with my American friends quite often. That was different with the VFW restaurant at Siri Hotel being the only place where you could meet foreigners in Korat: not many people cared about nationalities.

And besides this forum probably isn't the only source spreading that announcement. I'd say ask Paolo how many Americans will come, if you want to be among those mostly. I think and do hope that the trend is going towards meeting and communicating among expats in Korat regardless of their nationalities - again. ;)
Fun is the one thing that money can't buy

I'm not Thai but I celebrate Song Kran and Loi Kratong.  It doesn't matter what holiday it is, if I can get my hands on some Turkey I'm going to go for it.  I remember a few years ago Paulo's place was packed for Thanksgiving and the majority of the people there were not Americans. I do believe he's going to do a Christmas dinner as well this year.

I'm going slightly off topic but only in following your point above. I haven't noticed much of a rift between the foreign nationalities in Korat. If there is a rift it's for other reasons than nationality.

I think the point being made is that non-Americans rarely celebrate Thanksgiving unless in the company of American friends.

He is doing a Christmas dinner for sure.  I spoke to him this morning.  In fact, the reservation list is almost full already.

Off topic.  Does anyone know what happened to Steve or where he's gone?  Is it also true that The Walrus is closing shop as well?

I just got back from PB restaurant and I have to say that the XMAS dinner was excellent..350 baht gets you a full turkey spread with all the fixings plus a smoked Salmon appetizer and desert.  The place was almost full with maybe 50+ people there.

I understand PB is doing this same dinner special again, tomorrow December 25th.  Check it out.

350baht sounds like a bargain, doubt we got anything like that in Pattaya, they really should grow more turkeys here, bigger weight than chickens and probably the same care.

The Thais seem to like turkey too.  My in-laws loved it.
