Anybody who would like to join our golf society, we play every Tuesday and Thursday and everybody is welcome. Call in to the bar and we'll give you all the details etc.

New band at the Sports Bar
« Reply #3 on: September 28, 2011, 11:34:36 PM »
Hi Everybody.

Killers night is Thursday night. (Yet  again not the band but killer pool)

Check out the new band playing this Friday. Loads of energy and life. (And young to boot especially for "Drooling"  Dawn).  Playing lots of stuff from the 90's and noughties -- Radiohead in particular, along with a great range of others. We went to see them recently and couldn't wait to get them into the Sportsbar.

Rugby games as usual with commentary. Watch this space for our plans for the quarter finals to the final.

Hangover cures as per normal on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Haeng again on Saturday afternoon with his incredible repetoire and voice.

Free Pool on Sundays.

Cheers
Briany & Kaew

Hope to see you all soon.

« Reply #6 on: October 04, 2011, 04:52:42 PM »
Hi Everybody

This week we have the ever popular Boss Band on Friday night with a few guests as support band. Promising a new set again this week they just keep getting better and better, but, they will find it hard to match last week's band; let's hope it becomes a battle of the bands on Friday Nights!!!!!!!!

Saturday is going to be a Big Day for Sports Fans.

We're opening at 11am and will have Breakfast and a Big Beer (Vodka etc.) for 175 baht.

Kick Off for the Ireland Wales match at 12 noon and followed by England v France at 2.30pm.

Not to leave our Southern Hemisphere friends out Sunday will see the same opening time and Brekky deal.

Kick off for Sth. Africa V Australia is 12 noon and The All Blacks V Argentina at 2.30pm.

Hopefully it willbe two days of fantastic sport and the hangovers will not kill us.

See you then

Weekend at the Sportsbar
« Reply #7 on: October 13, 2011, 01:45:36 PM »
Hi everybody

Friday we will have our usual Live Music Gig with "The Breeze" playing. After cutting their first CD 2 weeks ago we are expecting a big show from them because no doubt they'll be trying to sell one or two at the gig.

After last weekend we are really looking forward to the Rugby World Cup semi finals this weekend. Not too disappointed about the Irish loss as Wales were superb and deserved the win. On Saturday we plan to meet up for "Brunch" at 1.30 and start getting into the atmosphere for a 3 o'clock kick off. We'll be shouting for Wales but that doesn't mean "Les Bleu" supporters are not welcome. The more people supporting either side the better the banter. Haeng will be playing again after the match so anybody who feels like joining him on stage can strut their stuff.

Saturday evening also sees Liverpool V Man United at 18.45 kick off. Always one of the matches of the season to watch so don't miss it.

Sunday sees the Antipidean Clash of the Giants which should be a cracker. Same kick off time at 3 pm.

Looking forward to a great weekend of Sport & Music, we hope to see you all.

Cheers
Briany & Kaew

Weekend at the Sportsbar (Theeeeee BAnd are Back)
« Reply #8 on: October 20, 2011, 07:53:28 AM »
Hi Everybody.

All sorts this weekend at the Bar.

Friday afternoon we have the Bronze Medal play off in the Rugby at 2.30 Wales v Australia.

Friday evening from 6-9 we have Korat Chef on the premises giving out free samples of their sausages and breads.

After that we're delighted to say that the Band "Kratdai Lek (Little Rabbits)" are back. After their performance a few weeks ago we couldn't wait to get them back in. The energy they have is breathtaking and of course Boys in Bands for our Dawn!!!

Saturday as usual is the Hangover session and The Premiership with first match at 18.45.

Sunday sees the Rugby World Cup Final at 3 pm with New Zealand taking on France.

Sunday evening then we have the biggest match of the year so far in the premiership Man United versus Man City at 19.30. Blue or Red -- everybody is welcome.

Looking forward to seeing you all.
Cheers

Brian posts where his customers likely read it. He probably based his decision where to announce events on what his customers had told him which forums they look up for reading. I conclude that you don't have to be afraid of running into an all exclusive crowd when visiting his bar!  :)

Hi everybody.

This Friday we have our Charity Day starting out with a Texas Scramble Golf Tournament at Panorama Golf Course. Tee off is 10 am and it is not too late to enter if you would like to. Call into the bar today or tomorrow to register and we will fix you up with a team. The entry is 1650 baht which includes Golf, Caddy, Transport (meet sportsbar 8 am), Prizes and Special Golf Shirt commemorating the day.

In the evening we will have a "Mixed" Pool Tornament (doubles Male & Female) and willl also have a raffle for various prizes donated by customers of the bar. If you cannot make the golf or pool, please try to get down for the raffle and buy a few tickets for a very good cause.

All profits from the golf and proceeds from the pool and raffle will go to The British Legion, Thailand, thru Fred Beavis (secretary Korat Division).

Our live music this week will be on Saturday with "Kradtai" playing again.

Saturday and Sunday afternoons will of course see the usual Hangover Sessions!!!

Hi everybody.

This weekend sees our Live Music on Friday Night with an acoustic set at 8.30 and The Guys from Bule Saloon at 9.30. These guys really impressed me a few weeks ago playing a nice middle of the road set, from Creedence to Elton John, and, what a singing voice the lead has. We didn't hesitate to re-book them for this weekend.

On Friday we also have KoratChef on site dishing out some samples of their newest product, English Style Bacon. Delicious!!! Nice Bacon Sarnie before copius amounts of beer ------ doesn't get any better!!

Saturday of course is the hangover session and we will have the premiership games on live with the first game at 19:45 and the next ones at 22:00.

Sunday is the hangover after the hangover session and premiership games are on at 20:30 and 23:00.

Hope to see you all

Cheers

Hi everybody

This weekend we have our live music session on Friday night with an acoustic set at 8:30 and back by popular demand "Kradtai Lek" (Little Rabbits) at 9:30. These guys play a regular gig at the Ozone Bar where they are quite subdued, but they love to get on our stage and let go. They have a great range of songs too and promise to get you all off your seats for a bop on Friday Night.

Saturday's hangover session will have our very special guest JimmyH drinking coca cola and hammering everybody on the pool table!!
First Premiership match, Newcastle V Chelsea, is at 19:45 and a choice of matches at 22:00. The Villa V United match is not till 00:30

Sunday's super hangover session should provide us with lot's of sore heads, sick stomachs, groans and moans!!! Just get on it again and prolong the agony till Monday!!

Cheers
Briany

PS.   How many shopping days left till Christmas???

Hi everybody

The problem with advertising bands in ths town is none of them have a name. So here goes .... The two guys who played a few weeks ago, one on a slide guitar thingamyjig and one on bongo drums who played some classical bluesy feel come Latino sounds are back on this Friday. We promise no screaming loud stuff but some really top class middle of the road foot tapping sounds.

Saturday will of course see the ever popular hangover session with the premiership starting at 22:00

Sunday's premiership starts at 19:00 with the QPR v UNITED game and Liverpool at 21:05

Watch this space for a few Christmas Events coming up.

Cheers
Briany & Kaew.

Why don't you just tell the musicians you're hiring that they need a name for announcement purposes? If I cannot recognize a band by their stage name how can I decide to go to their concert? Without any name their playing can only go as "jam session" in an announcement. That would attract a totally different audience. Any band that wants to be a NAME needs a stage name first.
