Korean Food in Korat

One thing I miss...For some reason several expats here think Korean food is one of those many places that have the fire in the middle of the table where you cook some poor cuts of meat over it.  That isn't even remotely close to what Korean food is, yet people here promote places like this claiming they serve Korean food.  I've only fond authentic Korean food in Bangkok near the US Embassy.  The place is called "Korean House" and it is owned and operated by a Korean lady from Korea.  Almost every type of Chinese and Korean food here is a watered down Thai version of the real thing.  I wish a real Korean restaurant would open up here.

Doesn't Korean food generally consist of fermented cabbage and fresh monkey brains?

Hah.  Fermented cabbage yes.  I think Korean food is a lot healthier than Thai food.  Everything here is fried in fatty oil and loaded with MSG.  Sugar is also added to almost everything.  I read somewhere that a small pizza with all the toppings has less calories and fat than a plate of Pat Mee Thai. I think it was in an Australian newspaper.  There is also a pretty good selection of Korean food at The Mall.  The Korean noodles are much better than the Thai ones.  They also sell Kim Chee and all the sauces to make the barbecue meats.

I have to admit I'm not really an Asian food fan, I like about 10 Thai dishes, pretty much dislike or at least not enjoy all Chinese food, Korean I have never bothered with, but Indian food, now that is proper food :)
