Music on the Hills
Khao Yai Valley, one of Thailand's top destinations for nature-loving travellers, will be filled with a romantic Christmas air and delightful festive songs and show-tunes when the Primo Posto restaurant hosts a dinner concert entitled "Music on the Hills at Primo Posto: We Need a Little Christmas" on Sat, Dec 26 at 7:30pm.
Pianist/baritone/master of ceremonies Apichart Intravisit will perform during the ‘‘Music on the Hills at Primo Posto: We Need a Little Christmas’’ dinner concert at Primo Posto restaurant in Khao Yai on Sat, Dec 26 at 7:30pm.
Nestled right in the middle of the famous valley in Nakhon Ratchasima, this Italian-style restaurant is said to be the most beautiful eatery in Khao Yai. And the 60-minute intimate living-room-style concert there will bring the weekend residents and visitors 22 popular Christmas and Broadway's golden oldies to be performed by Apichart Intravisit with the Primo Posto Quartet men's choir.
Apichart is a familiar face in Thailand's classical music circle for his role as master of ceremonies and narrator on several classical music and pop-music concerts for nearly 20 years, including the popular and annual Bangkok's "Music in the Park" at Lumpini Park.
His experience in music ranges from piano playing to narrating and singing show-tunes occasionally for charitable events, as well as producing his own small concerts such as "On the Street Where We Lived" at Dusit Thani Hotel in 1996, and "Summer Time" at Hilton Park Nai Lert in 1999.
An executive of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Apichart has combined his skills of speech making, piano-playing, and singing to bring his audience a warm and intimate ambience with touching stories and meaningful remarks for any celebrations.
He will be backed on stage by the Primo Quartet, who have sung regularly for AMA Chorus, Bangkok Camerata and Bangkok Choral Society. Their experiences with varsity glee clubs, musicals production, and choral societies formed a strong foundation for their choral singing and staging skills.
The group comprises Charnyuth Waroonthepraksa, Dultat Wasinachindakaew, Pakorn Prachammuang and Prasit Champrasert. This concert will mark their return following their successful performance at Primo Posto in November.
This heartwarming piano singalong concert will also feature three guest vocalists - Rapeeporn 'Pearl' Prathum-Anon, Sarun 'Note' Kungbanpot and Kanittaka 'Goy' Limungura.
Though new to Bangkok classic-pip circle, Rapeeporn's voice has graced several theme songs of Thailand's popular TV dramas for over eight years. Following her extensive study of voice and music in Australia, Pearl returned to Thailand to teach in reputable music academies, as well as starring in musical productions, such as the recent production of Man of La Mancha. Pearl also sings regularly at pop concerts of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.
Having earned his reputation as a singer with a heartwarming and handsome voice since he was eight, Sarun won several awards from the stages of youths to KPN Award 2001, which has proved his solid musicianship and profound linguistic skill. He has performed with Bangkok Symphony Orchestra since 2002.
Kanittaka's principal role in this event will be cooking. Nevertheless, as a seasoned alto vocalist, she can create another set of delicious melodies to entice the audience, as much as her culinary venture does to all diners. A faithful member of several glee clubs in Bangkok, Kanittaka has sung as both alto-soloist and as choir member at several public events with prominent combined choir groups.
Tickets cost 1,500 baht, including a five-course dinner to be served at 6pm, and should be purchased from Primo Posto by Dec 25. For reservations, call 086-514-9874. For more information, contact the restaurant on 084-035-8554.
