I'd like to help but I'm out of date with Korat hotel prices.

Never used them but the price seems reasonable.

Tokyo Mansion Hotel, Suranaree Road, prices from 250 baht a night,
cheapest room has double bed, fan, cable tv, hot water shower and wifi
I usually stay there if I go to Korat

That is cheap - from tripadvisor

“Probably the cheapest accommodation in central Khorat”

The hotel could be difficult to find, since the sign just states "Tokyo Mansion", so if you're not aware that's a hotel you'll just pass it.

It's on the left side of the Sansabai House, which is newer and cleaner, but costs twice as much (550 Baht for a double, while 250 at Tokyo Mansion).

Room was fine for the price: fan, hot shower, no wardrobe but enough space for our stuff, free wifi. The hotel was kind of noisy, we've heard people going up and down the stairs all night. Good value for the price and the location, nothing more.  tripadvisor.co.uk

“The Worse Hotel I never been”  +  “Worst possible hotel in Khorat”  Here's 2 other reviews not so good

One of the reviews further down clarifies an important point.

"The nice hotel is called Tokyo Mansion (331 Suranaree Road) and not Tokyo Hotel (256-8 Suranaree Road)!"

If the reviews (and jivvy!) are correct, I think it is important that you get the right one.

You have a point there takeitor - just testing the observancy  ;)  so here is another review.

6) Tokyo Mansion - Small rooms in this hotel, but quite nicely furnished with TV and hot water. The rooms are definitely cared for and are clean. There wasn't much of a window in the rooms I was shown. Fan rooms are 204 baht per night, air-con rooms, 312 baht nightly. Tel: +66 (0)44 242873 / 257179

13) Tokyo Hotel - A large, not very attractive looking hotel. The rooms are OK. They've certainly seen a better day but are nice and clean. The rooms I was shown had windows backing on to a wall. The fan rooms, at 250 baht per night, are competitively priced but the air-con, at 450 baht nightly, seem a bit overpriced. Tel: +66 (0)44 242788

Theres loads more hotels here and even a map of korat - don't know how old the link is.chiang-mai.org

jivvy got over charged 46 bht.
