Title: Class Cafe / Scale Burger
Post by: Baby Farts on March 18, 2015, 02:23:07 PM
I went to this place today and I have to say I was very impressed with the Burgers and Coffee.  I've never had a burger with the Black bun, but man was it delicious.  Fresh ground coffee chilled Latte was also on par and not overly sweet like how most of the Thai places make them.

It's located down the street from The Iyara Hotel.  If you keep going straight you'd run right into the Korat prison....Same street as the Stories.

Google Placemark too.

Totally agree with BF, the burger and chips are delicious.  The bun is a bit of a gimic, but tasty nonetheless.  You can watch the staff mincing the beef and making the burgers fresh and it really does make a difference. The burger is not the cheapest - 189, or 219 with chips - but it is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

There are a couple of other slightly older "Class" coffee shops in town - one on Jomsurang Yat road, 300m past the re-furbed Klang Plaza; and another halfway between the Maharat Hospital and Pegasus Hotel - but only the latest one that BF mentions serves the Scale Burger.  The new shop has its own big coffee roaster out the back and the owner, called Golf, really knows his stuff when it comes to good coffee.  Well worth a visit.

Agree.  Certainly worth the price.  I like the high ceilings.  I'll definitely be going back.

Thx for the info Takeitor on the other places you mentioned.

Do they really have a drive through window?

I'm not sure what's up with that, Al.  I did see that on the glass, but as far as a drive-thru like the fast food places in the states, not even.  It would be nice if there were a drive thru fast food in Korat.....Like a Taco Bell, Jack in the crack, or even Burger King. Well, at least you can drive by some of the street vendors and they'll bring the food to your car....Lots of the Monkey Ball soup places will do that.

The Roger doth protest too much, methinks.  11 days left to go and canvassing for votes is in full flow.

I love Thai food - but those burgers are gooood!

After living here for fourteen years and having to eat Thai food daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner....yeah Burgers are a treat!   :drink

New arrivals will certainly enjoy the Thai food like I did for the first month of two, but it gets boring fast and you start to miss the food you're used to having....sigh.

On the plus side, I have become a better cook now because I'm having to cook the foods I want to eat......Like Chicken Sorentino, Mexican food, etc..   ;D

Eleven yrs here and thai food is still no1 for me, tom-kha-gai is 1 of my favourites - Gang sapalot comes in at no 2
then Sweet and Sour Pork. yummy!

Thaiga. I laughed at that. Bit under the belt though so I hope the judging panel will just write that comment off, as a blatant bit of spin in your pursuit of the Crown. Tell me more about Walcot ? ATB
