Regarding Pizzas, I don't know if you include Chok Chai in your area, but I can assure you that the Pizzas at 'Garden Restaurant', Chok Chai, are fantastic too, together with other Thai and Falang dishes including some Austrian specialities.

Oh, Alfred from Chokchai Garden Restaurant is still in business? Haven't heard anything about him for quite a while now. Last, I think, was, that he wrote a PM to a member on Korat-Info, telling his guests were complaining about the quality of Korat-Info, where he had to be kept from excessive advertising, better called "spamming".  Better not mention, what he posted there himself in relation to other restaurant owners. Another businessman not knowing how to handle PR and keeping the personal information of guests, picked up on their visits. ;)

Read the story there in German:

Saf and I went there once.  Pleasant chap the owner.  Off topic.  I sure miss Balu's sausages.   Anyone know where I can find a substitute and also some home made sauerkraut?  For those who don't know, Balu went back to Germany.  His restaurant / home was sold to some people from Bangkok.  No idea what the fate of the place is now.  His GF / wife Paiwan is now selling clothes at the night market.

Since a few months there is a new venture in town named "Lecker Lecker". Name of the German owner is Uwe. They offer Pizza, hamburgers, various spaghetti, steaks, schnitzel, cordon bleu, from time to time baked goods. They also have a good selection of Thai dishes including Som Tam, Uwe said in his introduction on Korat-Info.

It's located outbound past Makro behind the university. Shown on Google Maps how to get there: https://maps.google.co.th/maps/ms?hl=en&vpsrc=6&ctz=-420&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=200656736454643938339.0004afdc60fe960319da4&ll=15.006142,102.115109&spn=0.012622,0.01929&t=h&z=16

They're open usually every day from 8 a.m. till night, usually about 9 p.m. You can find out by calling 08 - 9280 2975

More info on their Facebook page: http://facebook.com/lecker.lecker.39

Don't know whether they feature Sauerkraut, but I think Detlef from O&D in Khok Sung has.
