Thanks to much help from Thaiga, here are some photos of a Ya Mo play performed last week at Central mall by local members of the Red Cross.  For those of you who may not know, here is a short outline of the Ya Mo story:-
Many years ago, around 1820, the area around Korat was invaded by the Laotian Army.  The Thai men were all out in the bars at the time and did not want to go out and fight.  The Laotian Army treated everyone very badly and the women of Korat started to despair of the situation.  However, there was one very determined old lady in Korat called Ya Mo (Grandmother Mo).  She organized the ladies into a group and they all went out to where the Laotian Army was camped.  The ladies took lots of drink with them and soon all the Laotian soldiers were all drunk. The soldiers fell into a deep sleep and then Ya Mo and her ladies took their swords and killed them all.  Ya Mo was proclaimed as a heroine and the savior of Korat. She is still very much revered, even today.
