NAKHON RATCHASIMA - Runoff triggered by heavy overnight rain inundated roads and homes in two districts of this northeastern province on Wednesday.

The downpour caused forest runoff that flooded the Phimai-Chumphuang Road between between kilometre markers 6-8, with the water up to 50cm deep.

In Rakkayai village of Phimai district, the floodwater in at least 10 houses was about 40cm deep. Phimai Damrong Witthayakhom School suspended classes on Wednesday, with the floodwater there over 50cm...

Flooding was receding slowly.

In Chumphuang district, mountain runoff from neighbouring Lam Plai Mat district of Buri Ram caused flooding at three villages in tambon Nonyo.

At lead 20 houses were affected, with floodwater rising to 50cm. Residents raced to move their belongings to higher ground and local officials were dispatched to provide assistance.

The Meteorological Department on Wednesday said there would be more rain and isolated heavy rain in the North, Northeast, East, the west coast of the South, Bangkok and its vicinity on Wednesday and Thursday.
