Nakhon Ratchasima gets 10km-long bicycle lanes

THE Northeast's first bicycle lane was officially opened yesterday in Nakhon Ratchasima's Muang district.
Ten more bicycle lanes are slated for construction throughout the province by the end of next year.

Nakhon Ratchasima has received a budget from the Transport Ministry and the Tourism and Sports Ministry to build 11 bicycle lanes.

Hi Thaiga - yes I've watched them building that cycle lane and it is certainly very impressive.
BUT a friend who lives inside the track is very concerned that there will be accidents as traffic coming from 'inside' crosses the cycle track en route to the main road.
I see his point - head down cyclists are hard to see from some crossing points.
It's a super track but care is needed.

Well Thaiga, I biked the lane this morning and it is a pleasant ride. Very much so. The only slight downside is plenty of fumes wafting over from the busy Khon Kaen road.
Although the bikes have priority, caution is needed at the fuel stations and army base where incoming traffic did not yield. Just a smite of common sense though and it's great !
For those feeling brave it makes a nice outing - start from Pepsi at Korat and down to the Zoo junction - then 100 metres on the left, Noi's Restaurant with OK food, LeO B65 and some long legs around.
Pip Pip !

Well done roger, as for the fumes a face mask might help.
But it sounds like you still had some energy left, steady as you go as in long legs :o
