NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 19 June 2015 (NNT) - Nakhon Ratchasima province held the National Conference & Research Presentation 2015 entitled “Create and Development to Approach ASEAN Community II.”

At Nakhon Ratchasima College, Deputy Governor Winai Wittayanukul presided over the second academic conference organized on June 18-19. The conference was meant to apply academic research to the benefit of society and subsequently, the ASEAN community.

The event also served as a stage to present academic research and innovations to the public, while also networking partnerships and collaborations with various organizations.

The event included a special lecture on Thai education in the ASEAN community, as well as presentations of 150 research papers across four academic fields. These include Education, Health Science, Science and Technology, and Social Science and Business Administration.

The panic has set in! Now Thais seem to have realized that working together with their neighbours can benefit them. Closing the gap needs a special approach, though. Especially a common systems of signs (spoken language, written language) is needed. But learning communication has become more complex than ever. Because the IT age has set new standards which will need many years for the Thai teachers to acquire.

Bangkok Post wrote five years ago: "Obec has announced information and computer technology and English exam results of school directors. About 95% of about 40,000 directors failed the tests, Mr Chinnaworn said."  But has anything changed since then? And is there a way to educate those government officials already employed in these now needed new ways of communication?

"Efforts" are made by hiring resident foreigners, expecting miracles. Miracles insofar, as they expect to come to class, having the teacher put the English language competence into their heads. When asked to participate by answering a question, they excuse themselves for being shy. It's that easy! teachers against the wall of silence!
