100m baht expected to circulate in Wang Nam Keaw this winter

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 14 October 2014 (NNT) – The President of the Wang Nam Khiao district Tourist Club expects 100 million baht will circulate in the regional economy this winter tourist season.

Mr. Pongthep Malachasingh, the president of the Wang Nam Keaw tourism promotion club, says the high-season for tourism starts in late-October 2014 and continues to mid-February 2015.

The club president expects more than 1 million visitors and more than 100 million baht will be brought into circulation in the area, while accommodation is now 70% booked into next year.

The weather in Wang Nam Khiao is getting better as it grows colder. The average temperature is 17 to 18 Celsius. This encourages visitors from all over Thailand to visit during weekends.

According to the survey, there are 350 different places offering accommodation in Wang Nam Khiao with more than 2,000 rooms. Currently, accommodation on weekends is fully booked and not available again until January 2015.

Meanwhile, farmers in the area have put their organic produce such as milk jujubs, seedless grapes, vegetables from temperate climate countries, and processed mushrooms on sale for tourists. This generates very good income for farmers and other local people.

Situated in the Nakhon Ratchasima Province of northeastern Thailand, Wang Nam Khiao district is considered by many the Switzerland of Thailand, and is recorded as the place with the 7th highest ozone level in the nation.
