"Elephant Duel Day of King Naresuan" held on Nakhon Ratchasima

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 18 January 2010 (NNT) - Floral sets were laid down in front of the statue of King Naresuan in the occasion of Elephant Duel Day to commemorate his victorious elephant duel against the Burmese Uparaja.

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Prajak Suwanphakdi and the numbers of the representatives, including civil officers, military officers, police officers and state enterprise officers in the province, flocked to pay respect and lay down the florals at the Tinsulanon Meeting Hall on the second floor of the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Hall in a commemoration of King Naresuan's victorious elephant duel against the Burmese Uparaja.

The cabinet resolved in 29 November 2005 to name the 18th January of every year as the "Elephant Duel Day of King Naresuan".
