What is the best software for taking screenshots?

Are they all the same, equally good? Do some give higher resolutions than others?

You're having a larf, ain't yer? There's another thread I saw mentioned this. I asked just now and was told by the village drunk that anyone with arf a brain could do this.

I know screenshots have become a kind of fashion lately. But they're of very little legal relevance. Why? Because what the screen showed when you took the shot can be manipulated so easily. Just go to any website, right-click and select "view page source". Now stroke over the complete source code with the left mouse button depressed to highlight all. Then either right-click and select "copy" or press "Ctrl+C" on your keybord.

Now open an HTML editor like MS Office FrontPage and create a new normal page with that paper icon on top left. Then select "Code" at left bottom, delete completely what is on the page now or overwrite it and paste the source code of that website into it by either right-clicking on the empty page and selecting "paste" or pressing "Ctrl+V" on your keyboard. It might take a few seconds to copy it all over. Then click "Design" at the bottom left of FrontPage and have fun changing the text of that page in almost any way you like, using the html editor like a word processor. When you changed it to your liking save it with any name on your PC. Then click on that file and open it with your browser. Write the url it is supposed to be taken from into your browser's address line and take your screenshot with any software you like or by just pressing "Ctrl+PrtScr" on your keyboard.

You can use FrontPage for making the file by just creating a new page again, set the pointer on the page and press "Ctrl+V" or right-click and select "paste". Now save your file with that picture. The picture will be automatically saved in an extra .jpg file. You can use that now to your fun. But of course it is not legal to deceive somebody with a screenshot from a manipulated website. ;)

And if one of your "friends" comes along showing you a screenshot that would proove something unbelievable etc. for you, just tell him very calm to supply evidence of genuineness. But of course when someone comes along presenting a screenshot from a place where he could have made it only by violating the Computer Crime Act think twice about how to use your knowledge of the ease to fake a screenshot from a webpage. There might be a better way than denying its genuineness then...

Oh, btw a higher screen resolution you can easily get by setting your display to a higher resolution before you take a screenshot. Depends upon your monitor and graphics card how high you can get.

Just for demo and kicks I made a shot of the fictitious site "koratfightlife.com" as it could be when Carneval starts at the historic date 20011-11-11 11 o'clock 11 mins 11 secs. Google will have read it a day later.

For better screen resolution open it in a separate tab.

Hallo ich spreche kein Deutsch konnten, haber wir ein englisch- ubersetzung

The - unaltered - poll question is

What do I think about Korat-Info?

The - unaltered - poll choices are

Yes, I noticed quite often that KoratCat (owner www.korat-info.com) treats some users unfair and denounces those.
No, Koratcat (owner www.korat-info.com) treats all users of Korat-Info absolutely fair.
I don't know Korat-Info and therefore can't tell.
koratcat (owner of www.korat-info.com) has also treated me once or more often unfair.

The post - changed to it's pure opposite in this demo - says

I want to document that www.korat-info.com is simply the best website in and about Korat. Therefore I recommend to everybody to open that website a couple of times every day to keep up to date. And the administrator treats everybody always absolutely fair, not only the users of his websites!!! And the absolutely best english websites in Korat are www.grumpyexpat.com and www.koratfart.com. I can guarantee for that. Because my english is so good that I can understand each word.

If you want to see the original from the sad reality you can find it by googling and opening the cached text of the search result. Use your brain what to search for. If you type a foreign language into the search box, make sure you don't mistype.  ;)

At present the complete original text (quoted english text with german translation) is still visible at Google.
