My new internet provider.
« on: May 16, 2014, 08:04:27 AM »
Living out in the country I have had to use TOT satellite for around 10 years now. Apart from it being very expensive at 2780THB per month, it is appalling slow, with a 1MGB download speed. That is on a good day with a following wind.

I have rang around every six months or so to see if any of the other companies have internet available in my area, this has always been a negative until yesterday.

The computer shop in 79 near me rang to say he is now the local provider for TeleWizz, (I am not 100% sure of this as I have no paperwork yet), and can get me good internet speed at a reasonable cost.

He installed it yesterday, it is an aircard system with a small dish on the outside of my house.

10MGB download speed, unlimited. Oh it is bloody wonderful. I can watch YouTube, something I have never been able to do before, pages turn quickly, I can use Skype without interruptions, oh joy.

The cost was 6,500THB to install including the first month's fee and then 850THB per month.

One very happy customer.

I had years of that ipstar before they put the landline in, 2,300bht a month never got more than 500kbps.
that was when it worked, the Technicians were here all the time and didn't seem to know a lot about it.
Very frustrating.

hope it stays well for you.
