Ok lets say your

is ok, leisure is a pretty good word which isn't much sort after so its a good start, time to start on the forum structure, now for google having the newbies welcome forum as first is real crap, but for people real good, so you got to make your own decision on that, but lets look at the title, "The Reception", hmmm, pretty darn meaningless and benefits nothing at all, now we want to see "korat forum", and, I suppose "Korat board", pretty high in google, so dump the "Reception" and use one of those, personally I would go for "Welcome to The Korat Forum" as you already have "board" in your website description which is a stronger place anyway, and now we need a meaningfull description for the first forum of between 20 and 30 words, ie the
"Hi Newbie!"

"Welcome to this board!."
Pretty shit aint it, what does it tell you? All it says is that a board is welcoming newbies, could be a sign up board for posting your own home made porn films or anything couldn't it.

Hi Newbie Welcome to Korat, or you could get another nakon ratchasima in there, maybe misspelt with a h in nakhon, common misspelling says google, the "welcome to this board", hmmmm, that is real crap, its got to be 20 to 30 words with things like korat etc in it.

The newbies forum for life in Korat, whether your thinking of retiring or just going on a tour through korat this is the place to introduce yourself.

needs filling out and more keywords.

It is a profile setting. :)
"Return to topics after posting by default. "
In Profile -> Look and Layout.

But needs to be individually set by each member, which is a problem here with the guest posting. Probably have to change the default for that setting in the software. No fun! :(

Set it as default and just go through each members profile and change theres, only take a minute, doubt you can do it for guests though as normally they can't post.

It is easy for people to see the difference between the domain name and description anyway, eventually you will actually have a header so the Koratfart.com will be deleted from that bit anyway. also chucking in bits and pieces of html foks search engines indexing.

bloody hell, its hard to keep up with the changes, ok the spamming board chuck down the bottom, by rights it should all just be deleted, but fok, you need content, so it can be deleted at a later date, obviously delete the links each time as they are normally real shite and google may penalise you for linking to shite or virus sites etc.

It seems that you are trying to make a go of this board, is my assumption right or will it just be a hobby board that you might take a look at every now and again?

Ok, I got a deal for you, I will help you set this up and get traffic, tell you what needs to be done, you run everything the way you want, you do everything in the admin panel, I want 30 percent of the profits, but, this is after using any initial profits to buy proper software, ie ipb or vb, plus seo software, plus proper hosting where ever you wish as long as it is in America, so basically I will help you for free untill you make your first 4 or $500, after that the money is split 70 you and 30 me, how does that sound?

PS it aint this year you will be sending money to me so don't get too enthusiastic :(

If your interested post here, you have an email addy of mine, obviously I have a contact page anyway, but if we are going to do this then i want a public record on the forum so you can't stiff me in the future, but obviously a lot of the stuff that needs to be done cannot be posted on the forum.

Active users is already set to 60 min.

How do you plan to make money with a forum? Google Adsense? I'm not interested in that. That's working for peanuts at Google's terms.

So that's where the real work is: getting local ads! To make that profitable you need more than one site. And then you cannot separate the income anymore as having come from just one project. This board alone will not be near the profit zone anytime soon, but it will be of good indirect use.

Yes but you need to tell people that it is set to 60 minutes, at present it says nothing.
I agree with google adsense, I personally wouldn't put it on a forum, so hey, I am asking for nothing to help you then, well, 30 percent of nothing after the nothing income has paid for proper software etc, so where is the problem?

Why do you need more than one site? How many should you have? Would a link back be just as good as having another site?

Not for linking to each other but for being able to offer better ad coverage. Of course they're all completely different projects.

Fact is that it's very difficult to get into an already fairly developed market at a single point only. A better chance you got by going at different points at the same time, especially if you integrate something new. But please don't expect me to explain here in detail what I'm working on that is still new and promising to be a good market in the future. I bet a lot would like to do that too, given the idea. ;D

You can make decent money with Google but its all about visitors numbers and relevant ads. There are not many advertisers in Korat so you often get ads for real estate in Pattaya or Bangkok hotels for example.

I have owned dozens of travel related sites, one for each destination, and the trick is by adding plenty of unique content and which has been optimized for the search engines. If you have sites for different destinations then chances are that you will not get bored. If you are only writing about Korat for example then you will probably run out of material to write about rather quickly.

There are a few guys up in Chiang Mai who are making pretty good money from Adsense, paid links and direct ads from a series of travel sites. They are doing it the right way. 1stopphuket.com 1stopsamui.com etc.
