resetting of karma
« on: November 09, 2009, 04:43:37 PM »
The karma has been reset to zero. Should be done every few months. So members don't need to delete their accounts, if the count of smites is getting high. ;)

You gotta earn your karma, DD!!

BTW the long expected next release candidate is here. Got an email today:

Quote
Simple Machines is proud to announce the release of SMF 2.0 RC2 Public. This is the long awaited second Release Candidate for 2.0 and is one of the last steps towards 2.0 going gold. Literally hundreds of bugs that were reported after the release of RC1 have been fixed and improvements have been made to security, stability, and performance. We recommend that all users of earlier development versions upgrade as soon as possible.

So, we'll be doing some changes anyway.

Never be the first to upgrade, give it a day or 2 to see if there are any problems first, ie security and compatability.

Of course I'll do some testing with a copy of this database as well. Will take a while before we get to run it here.

The Karma has been reset and voting is currently not available, because it had been abused too much.

Hello JF.

Jolly glad to see Karma removed - but I had very little left as you know  ;)

Thanks seems to be an issue too. It IS easy to feel unappreciated when posting - tell me about it  () - but it's also easy to forget the 'thanks' button when rushing around the keyboard.

To me, the best thanks is a reply  :spin

Thaiga - hope you are doing OK.

Yes, also not bothered about removing karma.  On another subject entirely, I was working in Saudi Arabia until the end of August.  Now the Saudis have just launched an exciting new entertainment programmer for 2019.  I am missing all the fun.  There is an article in Arab News about the entertainments...appearances by David Beckham etc.  Here is an extract from the article:-

“Competitions are an important element of entertainment,” said Al-Sheikh. “The most important will take place during Ramadan and will be of an Islamic nature, with the supervision of Islamic scholars.

“The first competition will be for the most beautiful reciting of the Holy Qur’an, and competitors from all over the world are invited. The first prize will be SR 5 million.

Here is the full article..hope you can stand the excitement. http://www.arabnews.com/node/1440131/saudi-arabia

Thaiga, if you are reading this just to let you know you are very much missed.
